On May 11th, the Toronto Blue Jays called up Braydon Fisher, a rookie pitcher from Texas. Most baseball fans wouldn't know who he is, but he's been one of the biggest under-the-radar breakout performers in 2025.

After being drafted in the 4th round by the Dodgers in 2018, Fisher struggled to find his footing in the minor leagues until this year. In 2024, he was traded to the Blue Jays for former top prospect Cavan Biggio. The Blue Jays saw potential in the 23-year-old in Double-A and added cash to push the deal through. So far, the Blue Jays have reaped the benefits of the trade as he's posted a 2.05 ERA and 2.18 FIP in 22 innings pitched in the majors this season. Along with that, he's posted an 11.86 K/9 and a 1.64 BB/9, which are both exceptional. His whiff and chase percentages are also pretty high at around 30%. His success can be attributed to his curveball that has 4.5 more inches of drop compared to the average, and hitters are only hitting .120 against it.
Braydon Fisher has established himself as a key piece in the Blue Jays bullpen this season, and it's only a matter of time before he gains the recognition he deserves.

It’s a good thing that he is no longer on the Dodgers
