As of July 24th, the Arizona Diamondbacks traded away first baseman Josh Naylor to the Seattle Mariners for prospects Brandyn Garcia, #13 prospect, and Ashton Izzi, #16 prospect.

Naylor has put up a solid year, posting a .292 batting average and an .807 OPS. However, he doesn't hit the ball consistently hard but finds his success through squaring up the ball (89th percentile) and not striking out (92nd percentile). Naylor should be a positive addition to a Mariners team that has always lacked consistent hitters.
The Diamondbacks acquired two prospects in the deal, with Brandyn Garcia being the headline. He's posted a 2.16 ERA in eight games out of the bullpen in Triple-A. He also pitched two games in the majors out of the bullpen to a 4.50 ERA. Ashton Izzi is the second prospect in the deal, and he's posted a 5.51 ERA in 12 starts in High-A.
