Former reliever/starter Nick Martinez has established himself as a solid starter in the big leagues after being used as a swingman, 14 relief appearances and 26 starts in 2025. During the offseason, he signed a 1-year $13 million contract to be a full time starting pitcher for the Rays. He's posted a 1.51 ERA and 3.45 FIP in 10 starts this season.

Despite not striking out many batters, 5.43 K/9, he's only walked 5.0% of batters which is amongst the best in the league. The valuation model already makes him worth over $13 million based off his first 10 starts while not accounting for the rest of the season. The Rays will continue to benefit from his strong performance as they look to have a strong bounce back season.
