As of July 30th, many moves have been made leading up to the trade deadline, and the Mets have been at the forefront of today's trade deadline activity. The Mets acquired relievers Tyler Rogers from the San Francisco Giants and Ryan Helsley from the St. Louis Cardinals.

The Mets initially made a trade with the San Francisco Giants for the submarine right-hander Tyler Rogers, exchanging prospects Blade Tidwell and Drew Gilbert along with major leaguer Jose Butto. Rogers has been one of the better relievers in MLB over the last half-decade. He's posted a 2.74 ERA (Earned Run Average) in five seasons from 2021-2025 and currently has a 1.80 ERA this season in 53 appearances, which leads the league. He has limited opponents to a 2.1% barrel rate, which is the best in the entire MLB, while only walking 2.1% of batters faced.
Ryan Helsley has been one of the most consistent closers over the past few years and recorded 49 saves for the Cardinals in 2024, which led the league. He was traded to the New York Mets for prospects Jesus Báez, Nate Dohm, and Frank Eilssalt. He's posted a 3.00 ERA and a chase % of 34.3. He has an average fastball velocity of 99.3, which is among the best in the league.
The Mets have built a very dominant bullpen that can go toe-to-toe with any team in the league for the last two months of the season.
