Pitchers are a main topic of conversation throughout the MLB for mostly the wrong reasons. Pitchers are throwing harder than ever before and getting hurt more. Teams are trying to come up with contracts that can be tailored to each individual pitcher based on a multitude of different factors.

The Pitcher Contract Valuation Model incorporates WAR forecasts, FIP (fielding independent pitching), injury history, aging curves, and market-adjusted cost per WAR to estimate the future value of pitchers under risk. By leveraging tools such as Excel, Python, FanGraphs, Baseball Savant, and Statcast data, this model offers a comprehensive analysis that can significantly impact decision-making in contract negotiations. One of the key highlights of this project is the unique nature of its contract predictions. Unlike traditional models, these estimations are not set in stone and take into account a wide array of factors to provide a more accurate representation of player value. By benchmarking model outputs against real 2025 contracts, the project identifies undervalued assets, offering teams a strategic advantage in their negotiations. The ultimate goal of this model is to enhance engagement within the baseball community and establish a prominent presence in Major League Baseball. By providing teams with cutting-edge tools for contract strategy, risk analytics, and player valuation, this project aims to revolutionize the way teams approach contract negotiations and player acquisitions. In a dynamic and competitive industry like Major League Baseball, staying ahead of the curve is essential for success. With the innovative approach of the Pitcher Contract Valuation Model, teams now have access to different techniques that can give them a strategic edge in winning deals and securing top talent for their rosters.
